The Yallourn Mine development resulted in removal of 523 Strzelecki Gum individuals which are listed as vulnerable under the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act, 1999. Due to this impact, EnergyAustralia Yallourn has implemented an EPBC Offset Management Plan that meets the conditions of the Federal Government's approval. Completion of the Offset Plan results in a net increase of 6207 individual Strzelecki Gums and 115 hectares of Strzelecki Gum habitat on EnergyAustralia Yallourn land.
EnergyAustralia Yallourn is required to produce annual reports detailing the offset work completed and publish on its website, see links below for the Approved EPBC Offset and the 2024 plan Annual Report.
