This means during a billing period; you may not have been eligible for the concession for the whole billing period.
This will happen when:
• Eligibility to receive the concession starts within the billing period,
• Eligibility to receive the concession ends within the billing period or,
• Your entitlement to receive the concession has ended within the billing period.
Any applicable concessions can be found within the Government concessions or rebates line item under the Understanding your bill section of your energy bill.
Here’s an example of when a partial concession is applied to an electricity bill with a billing period between 28/02/2023 – 30/04/2023 (62 days).
For any concessions that were partially applied to the bill (in this example, the Medical Cooling Concession was applied for 37 days during the billing period and the Annual Electricity Concession was applied for 42 days during the billing period), you’ll see the dates and how many days the concession was applied during that billing period.
The same applies for Victorian concessions for gas bills too.
The Winter Gas Concession only applies to charges incurred between and including 1 May and 31 October.
Therefore, bills issued with a bill period entirely outside of this period e.g. 14 November to 15 January, will not have the Winter Gas Concession applied.
