It is important that regular maintenance is carried out on your solar PV and/or battery system to ensure it continues to operate to maximum efficiency and safety. A planned and agreed maintenance schedule will guard against the build-up of dust and debris on the solar panels, which may compromise the performance.
In addition, water and moisture seepage, pests, hail, wind and sunlight can all cause damage or deterioration. We can work with your business to agree to a comprehensive schedule of preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs as required, to ensure that your system is covered.
FAQs
We recommend maintenance twice a year of the solar PV system, however this can differ between systems, products and environmental changes.
A fully qualified electrician with Clean Energy Council accreditation must perform maintenance on your system. Under no circumstances should self-maintenance by unauthorised persons be attempted.
Any dirt or debris, dust, grime, droppings or fungal growths that are allowed to build-up can prevent sunlight from entering the solar cells and reduce their efficiency. Rain, which carries minerals and other contaminants can also leave deposits that restrict solar PV performance.
Regular maintenance of your solar PV system should ensure:
- solar panels are clean, secure and free of defects
- no parts have deteriorated/corroded
- vents are free of debris
- switches do not have any defects
- wiring has not been damaged/has not deteriorated
- all components are operating as intended
- fittings and cables are securely attached
- the inverter display panel for recorded faults is reviewed
-
access to the isolator switches has not been impeded
-
clear instructions for emergency procedures for shutdown and isolation are displayed.
