Terowie Citizens Association, Burra Community and Sports Club, Gladstone Golf Club and Jamestown Apex Club have been announced as the recipients of over $9000 in community grants from EnergyAustralia Hallett.
The power station’s community grants program supports local projects and initiatives that are focused on improving education, social inclusion, regional sport and recreation.
EnergyAustralia’s Hallett Asset Leader, Mike Clee, said his team is excited to be funding four worthy new initiatives.
“Hallett generates electricity by using natural gas to power its 12 turbine units, providing about five per cent of South Australia’s power needs. Our team love that these grants enable them to support and connect with their community.
“We’re pleased that our grant to Burra Community and Sports Club means it can purchase an oven, while Terowie Citizens Association will use their funding to get a projector for the town hall.”
Over the last 15 years EnergyAustralia’s Hallett power station has provided over $140,000 in community grants and sponsorships.
