EnergyAustralia today announced the appointment of Chris Opperman as Chief Financial Officer.
Mr Opperman joins EnergyAustralia from Incitec Pivot where he is Interim President, Incitec Pivot Fertilisers having previously been Chief Financial Officer.
During his 14-year career at Incitec Pivot, Chris has held a number of senior executive roles including Interim Group Chief Financial Officer, Chief Financial Officer Dyno Nobel Asia Pacific and General Manager Finance and Investor Relations.
Commenting on Mr Opperman’s appointment, Managing Director Mark Collette said: “We are very pleased to have Chris join EnergyAustralia. Chris is an experienced CFO with a broad finance background.
“EnergyAustralia has made good progress in 2023 with improved financial performance and investment to increase our renewables firming capacity.
“In joining us from a listed environment, Chris brings an understanding of investor expectations that will help us continue to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation for all.”
Mr Opperman said: “I’m looking forward to joining the team at EnergyAustralia in the new year. There is already momentum in strengthening EnergyAustralia’s financial performance and I’m excited about the opportunity and the role of finance to drive improved returns to shareholders and our ability to participate fully in the energy transformation.”
Mr Opperman will commence the new role on 8 January.
