EnergyAustralia has today been announced as a member of the national body for the electric vehicle industry, Electric Vehicle Council (EVC).
The appointment comes as EnergyAustralia continues to deliver infrastructure and behind-the-meter renewable energy solutions, so customers can play an active role in the clean energy transition.
EnergyAustralia’s Head of Customer Assets Renae Gasmier said, “We are pleased to join the EVC, in its focus on driving investment and accelerating the electrification of transport in Australia.
“As EnergyAustralia continues to lead the development of renewable energy projects, we’ve been working to change the way Australians turn the lights on at home and transport themselves.
“For the past five years, EnergyAustralia has been innovating to provide customers with EV charging infrastructure, solar, battery and virtual power plant solutions for homes and businesses, and more recently this has extended this to electrifying bus and truck fleets.
“We envisage a future where our homes and our workplaces are the green petrol stations of the future and look forward to working with the EVC and industry stakeholders to bring this to life.”
Electric Vehicle Council CEO Behyad Jafari said, “The EVC is proud to announce Energy Australia has joined the EVC as our 99th member.
“As a major player in the energy sector with over 1.6 million customers and 2,300 employees, it is spearheading efforts to support the electrification of transport through EV retail offerings, charger installations, fleet transitions and virtual power plant orchestration.
“We are eager to see what we can achieve going forward.”
